VoIP Solution Providers

Thursday, May 6th, 2010

The importance of VoIP solutions in enhancing productivity of SMEs (small and medium enterprises) cannot be over emphasized. The cost savings, especially in the long run are significant. The per-employee productivity is also higher – thanks to the mobility features of VoIP.

However, penetrating the SME VoIP market often comes with certain roadblocks and problems for VoIP service providers. VoIP service providers cannot spend monetary resources to assess the networks and planned deployments of the client organizations. The situation is not that different post deployment as well. Call setup and call quality problems need effective tackling and the need for an on-site technician arises. The importance of lifecycle management solutions can be understood in this context. With such solutions in place, VoIP service providers do not have to worry about quality of service.

What is VoIP and who are some service providers?

Thursday, May 6th, 2010

One of the latest innovations in the telecommunications industry is Voice Over Internet Protocol technology (VoIP) technology which allows users to make voice calls over IP networks such as the Internet instead of a traditional phone line.  Some VoIP services only work over your computer i.e. Skype, but some companies like Kasamore offer services that also works on a traditional phone line, and mobile phone.

So how exactly is a phone call processed for companies like Kasamore? First, the caller dials in, using an access number.  The VoIP gateway, assisted by the Interactive Voice Response (IVR) server, then prompts the caller to enter his/her account ID (PIN) or no pin if its pinless dialing. Once the previous step is completed, the system authenticates the caller, prompts the VoIP gateway to announce the account balance to him/her, and signals him/her to dial the destination number. After the destination number has been entered, the system calculates the maximum call duration, and plays it back to the caller via the gateway’s IVR. Once the call is completed, it is charged to the caller’s account balance. The calling card user may log in to the account self-provisioning interface at any time to access call history (CDRs), payment information (credit card info), language options, and many other features.

The core elements of a VoIP-based calling card solution include:
•    A VoIP Gateway, this functions as an interface for the originated call from the PSTN (caller’s phone) to the IP network (Internet), and includes an IVR (Interactive Voice Response) server that provides voice prompts describing the account balance and minutes available for the call.
•    Billing software, a real-time billing and customer care platform that keeps track of calls and corresponding charges; redundant system architecture (dual database) is already incorporated in the basic version.
•    Call Control software, a call control software package based on the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), and providing a full array of call routing capabilities as well as a solution to the NAT traversal problem (only required by clients using PC phone software and/or when sending calls to a SIP carrier).

Looking to Save Hundreds on Your Phone Bill? Compare and Review VoIP Phone Service Providers

Monday, May 3rd, 2010

I made the switch to VoIP about three years ago and have never looked back.  The call quality is excellent and the features are incredible.  When I first switched to VoIP I purchased a package from a VoIP provider named Via-Talk which was a two year agreement paid up front.

Many VoIP providers have month to month plans but if you can cough up the money up front you can save quite a bit in the long run. The plan I purchased from Via-Talk was $199.00 for a full two years of service (that’s only $8.29 per month).

This article will briefly discuss how these billing systems work, and also discuss how billing is handled for optional features such as videophone capability and fax lines. For the purposes of this article, we will refer to the two categories as monthly and prepaid.

VoIP Solution Providers – Ushering in the New Age in Communications

Sunday, May 2nd, 2010

The migration to VoIP services is fast moving towards completion. Each day, the VoIP service providers are being challenged by new issues – challenges that they are taking up with full vigor. As of now, quite a lot is there in their platters. They have to ensure that the converged networks have enough bandwidth to support voice in addition to every other application. The networks have to be capable of delivering packet voice and that too in “real time.” And amidst all these issues – there is the one dealing with call quality. The call quality has to match up to that of the PSTN networks.

How Can VoIP Service Providers Sustain Business Organization Development?

Sunday, May 2nd, 2010

When it comes to using hybrid solutions for data calls and technology in the workplace, it can all be done very efficiently through use of VoIP. Why is something such as VoIP is so recommended though? Is it really going to help your business succeed and grow over time? Well, I think VoIP can help your business save on communication costs. And who don’t like to save on costs? While other telephone services are going to charge you by the actual telephone calls and the time made, VoIP actually offer you unlimited plans – because it’s not about the line that you are taking – it’s about the data you are sending.

So while you might make a lot, or less phone calls, it’s all depending on the amount of data you exchange. I know when I call someone in another country from the US using a regular phone (even if I have long distance) there are specific stipulations under which the long distance does not get covered, this is in turn going to be a HUGE bill for me to cover. Whereas if I made this call using a VoIP broadband phone over the Internet, and I only needed to send a specific piece of data to the person or company it would cost me much less, if not nothing.

You also have to factor in other things when it comes to business VoIP service as well, things that a regular telephone provider cannot supply for you. One of the biggest benefits that most people like besides the cost savings is the amount of advantageous options you get with the business VoIP service such as quality of voice – and you know what I’m talking about!
